Applications for Nitrogen Membrane System
GENERONS’® nitrogen membrane and PSA systems are used in many, varied applications. The
portability, ease of use, and low costs of these systems make them an ideal choice for the production
of on-site nitrogen. These systems range in flows from 53 scfh to over 10,426 scfh at 95% nitrogen purity,
with purities up to 99.995% and nitrogen pressures up to 9000 psig.
Our proprietary oxygen pressure swing adsorption (PSA) systems offer a highly reliable, low cost oxygen
method of supply. Standardized as well as custom-engineered OXYSWING® systems are able to cover a wide
range of customers' requirements. Our PSA systems offer flow rates up to 5 TPD at oxygen purities up to 95%
by volume.
Following are some of the different types of applications in which our nitrogen or oxygen systems are used:
OIL & GAS REFINING:
Our nitrogen generating systems are used for Onshore and Offshore inerting, instrumentation purge, seal purge,
pipeline purging & pigging, heave compensation, and more.
MARINE:
Our nitrogen generating systems are used for flammable cargo inerting and transfer, diving gases, LNG and LPG,
perishable inerting, cargo padding, and more.
FPSO’s-Floating Production, Storage and Offloading Systems:
Our nitrogen generating systems are used for gas injection/flaring and more.
FOOD STORAGE/PROCESSING & HANDLING/PACKAGING:
Our nitrogen generating systems are used for oxidation control of perishable food, sparging of liquids, beer dispensation,
void space replacement, etc.
GAS COMPRESSION:
GENERON® provides skidded wellhead compression, packaged process compression, or containerized portable compression for
many applications.
METALLURGICAL AND COMPOSITES:
Our nitrogen generating systems are used for annealing, carbonizing, hardening, sintering, mining, laser cutting, wave soldering,
etc. Our oxygen generating systems are used for furnaces to improve process economics.
ELECTRICAL/SOLDERING:
Our nitrogen generating systems are used for electrical cabinet purging, and oxidation control of electrical components. Our
systems are also used to reflow solder baths, prevent oxidation and minimize dross generation.
LASER CUTTING:
Our nitrogen generation systems provide assist gas to help process materials, and produce the high purity required to cut
Stainless Steel and to prevent oxidation. High-pressure versions of our systems allow for the cutting of thicker metal.
CUTTING/WELDING/BRAZING:
Our oxygen generation systems enrichment of the combustion feed stream provides clean, fast cuts every time, offers energy
savings and reduces flare gas and environmental impact. Our optional bottle filling station is easy and economical.
PHARMACEUTICAL / MEDICAL:
Our nitrogen generating systems are used to prevent combustion of chemicals and powders, remove reactive process gasses,
blanketing of chemical tank farms and nitrogen vacuum packaging. Our oxygen generating systems are used in hospitals and
veterinary clinics around the world.
CHEMICAL PROCESSING:
Inerting flammable chemicals and fluid transfers, line purging, vessel purging, pressure testing, and more.
PLASTICS:
Our nitrogen generating systems are frequently used as a gas assist for molding.
PULP & PAPER:
GLASS /ENAMEL:
Our oxygen generating systems help you achieve lower flue effluent, lower fuel usage and extend furnace life.
BIOTECH/WATERWASTE/OZONE:
Our oxygen generating systems increase the intensity of aerobic biological processes for higher operating efficiency.
FISH HATCHERY / AQUACULTURE:
Our oxygen generating systems are used to increase oxygen in artificial environments to allow for increased population.

Typical applications of GENERONS’® membranes include laboratory gas for purging, tire filling, preservation of
antiques and artifacts, used as high pressure gas in pneumatic / hydraulic cylinders for moving aviation equipment
and fumigation to rid environments of insects and microorganisms.
